When Marty became Attorney General, it was his father who administered the oath.
Mike Jackley practiced law in Sturgis and served as Meade County State's Attorney. In 1986 he ran for Attorney General, planting a seed of service in his family. Twenty-three years later he administered the oath of that same office to his son.
Marty went on to serve as U.S. Attorney and four-term Attorney General, endorsed by President Trump for Congress.
